The Renaissance Award was set up in 1989 by the Ulster Association of Youth Drama 's Patron Kenneth Branagh and is now managed by the UAYD.

The Renaissance Award assists young people to attend drama school. Since its inception the award has been won by many young performers who have gone on to make successful careers on stage, film and television. Awards have also been made to students for playwrighting and technical courses.

Criteria

The Renaissance Award 2005 invites applications from any person, under 25 years of age, who is currently attending a recognised drama school, or any young person who has been offered a drama school place to commence in the forthcoming academic year.

To be eligible you must meet all the following criteria:

  • Born or domiciled in Ulster
  • Aged 25 years or under on the application closing date
  • Currently attending drama school, or have been accepted to attend in the forthcoming academic year
  • A current member of UAYD. See Members Section for details on how to join
